We have been growing and exporting pistachios from the province of San Juan, Argentina to the world for some time now. This project began in 1998 with a 75-ha plantation in Punta del Agua, 25 de Mayo. This geographical area is especially suitable for growing pistachio nuts because of its climatic conditions (temperature amplitude with a perfect balance between the highest and lowest temperatures in the same area) and the quality of its water.
At present, we have 300 hectares, a nursery and a processing plant with high-tech equipment and we are in compliance with HACCP certification. There are 28 local people working together to achieve the best quality.
Marcelo Nemirovsky, a businessman in the rechargeable energy industry, and agricultural engineer Pablo Camilo Garcia, who joined the project as an advisor to provide his expertise to the business, decided to embrace the development of an innovative crop and encourage the consumption of this healthy nut.
It takes time and patience together with a long-term vision to grow pistachio trees as it will take about 10 years before getting a good yield of pistachios and reaching a peak production.
We are engaged in the full production cycle; from seed germination, planting, harvesting, processing and packaging to commercializing pistachio in its different forms.
We have a large domestic market presence; furthermore, we export to Spain, Italy, Brazil, Chile and Colombia.
We are really proud of our nurseries and we have a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with entrepreneurs so as to assist them with the development of new projects, plants supply and even supervise the full design of their pistachio orchards.
Our business has a significant impact on social, economic and environmental aspects; for that reason, our priority is to contribute to people´s well-being and to the environment by producing healthy food but at the same time optimizing energy and water consumption.
Our commitment is to turn desert land into fertile soils resulting in productive land, quality employment, regular training and environmental sustainability.
Our business model is based on the three principles of a circular economy; this means designing for reuse, remanufacturing and recycling to keep products, components, and materials circulating in the economy.
Our production process does not generate waste; the skin and shells of pistachios are biodegradable and this makes them excellent candidates for the composting process. We then, create good compost to be used as a natural soil fertilizer.
